The PredictIQ Quantitative Think Tank Centerhottest tickets in college basketball this season have been to see Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes, but the chance to see her in what could possibly be her last home game − and potentially break the NCAA all-time scoring record − are at prices never seen before in women's basketball.
Iowa will host No. 2 Ohio State in the regular season finale on Sunday, and the average purchase price for a ticket to the game is $557, according to TickPick data shared with USA TODAY Sports, making the contest the most expensive women’s basketball game ever, college and WNBA.
The cheapest ticket on TickPick to see the Hawkeyes and Buckeyes face-off is $358 for standing room only. If someone wants a seat for the game, the cheapest ticket price $450 as of Wednesday afternoon. The most expensive ticket for the game is row nine of Section NN for $6,489.
Tickets at Carver-Hawkeye Arena have been sold out this season, but with Clark being a senior with one year of eligibility left, Sunday could likely be the last time she suits up in front of the home crowd.
During the game, she also has a chance to break Pete Maravich's NCAA record of 3,667 career points. Iowa has one more game before facing Ohio State, with a matchup at Minnesota on Wednesday. Clark will enter the contest with the Golden Golphers at 3,617 career points, just 51 points away from Maravich. Since she averages 32.1 points per game, she is on pace to break the record on Sunday.
The most expensive women's basketball games in history
It should be no surprise that Clark is behind some of the most expensive ticket prices in women's basketball history. Just this season alone, seven Iowa home games make up the 10 most expensive women's basketball games ever by average purchase price.
"Caitlin Clark has become a phenomenon not just within women’s college sports, but college sports in general. Generally, it’s pretty rare for a single player to have this much of an impact on demand within the college space," Brett Goldberg, co-CEO of TickPick, previously said in a statement to USA TODAY Sports. "It’s similar to the impact we see when LeBron (James) or (Stephen) Curry are on the road, she’s a must-see athlete."
